The boldly striped species has an orange or light brown background with wide dark brownish black striping, showing a natural tiger-like appearance as a whole. Just like its native name Muiracatiara which means ???°painted wood,???± each piece of the Tigerwood shows a different scene. A great choice for those would like to try something different. The wood exhibits a wide range of color striping that may vary from fine lines to bold brush strokes. The background color can range from light tans to light orange browns with change in the amount light. Its Janka hardness is 2,160.
